The Japanese Matcha Ice Cream (Green Tea Ice Cream) is relatively new to me. Growing up, we had red bean ice cream, corn ice cream, durian ice cream, and yam ice cream but not Matcha Ice Cream. My parents live in Hong Kong and I love visiting because matcha ice cream is EVERYWHERE, not to mention matcha and red bean sandwiches, matcha drinks… so. good. And coconut milk based ice creams totally rock! I've tried plenty of matcha ice cream & related desserts before and I will have to say that the matcha flavor is very subtle. Just something to keep in mind if you decide to try this place out! Most of matcha ice cream outside of Japan tends to be creamier and less matcha taste.
